My name is Dr. Keith G. Ryan, and I’m a chiropractor in Tulsa, Oklahoma. But my journey here wasn’t a straight line—it started with rocks before bones.
Back in 1988, I was working as a geologist in Tulsa. One morning while running on Riverside, I stepped in a hole and tweaked my back. My running buddy noticed I was running funny, but I still pushed through and finished our 10 miles. That’s when I knew something was seriously wrong—I was twisted, bent over, and could barely get into my car.
That injury sent me to a chiropractor. At first, progress was slow, but over time I got better… a lot better. I grew up a ranch kid, lifting and hauling heavy things, so my back always hurt. But after chiropractic care, I felt amazing—pain-free for the first time in years.
As a geologist, I had a successful career exploring in Oklahoma, the Gulf of Mexico, and the North Sea. I loved the work, but I kept noticing something in that chiropractor’s office—real people getting real results. I thought, Wow, this guy is really making a difference. Then I thought, But switching careers means taking a hit in income.
One day, I asked my chiropractor about that. He said something that stuck with me:
“If you need more income, just help more people.”
The very next day, I started looking at chiropractic schools. I chose Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas, quit my geology job, packed up, and went all in. I graduated in 1992, opened my practice in Tulsa, and soon after the Tulsa World ran a front-page business story about me titled “From Rocks to Bones.”
Now, over 30 years later, I’ve had the privilege of helping thousands of patients—newborn babies, expecting mothers, kids, athletes (from little leaguers to Olympians and pros), and everyday people just wanting to live without pain. One of my patients even won a gold medal. Over the years I’ve expanded into advanced therapies like laser treatment, non-surgical spinal decompression, and InvisaRED weight loss—all with the same mission: help as many people as possible.
I love what I do, and I can honestly say I’ve never looked back.
On the personal side, I’ve been blessed with three amazing daughters—all with master’s degrees and careers they love—and a wonderful wife, Lisa, who has her own exciting career. Together, we’ve traveled the world, and we plan to keep going.
After all these years, I still look forward to every day in practice. When you do something you love, and you see lives change, there’s no better way to spend a life.
